OFFICE ASSISTANT  

2 Seasonal Positions
Start Date: May 16th (can be negotiated)     

Position 1:
3 to 4 days (Friday thru Sunday or Monday) - 32 to 40 hrs. per week
$13.00/hr. to $15.00/hr. depending on experience (Friday – Monday)

Position 2:
4 days (Monday thru Thursday) – 32 to 40 hrs. per week
$11.00/hr. to $13.00/hr. depending on experience (Monday – Thursday)

Requirements:  Must be 18 yrs. old; high school diploma & valid driver’s license

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE POSITION
Permanent Full-Time Position
The Delta Conservation District, a local unit of state government is seeking interested applicants for a permanent full-time grounds maintenance position to work under the Delta County Parks & Campground system in the south-central Upper Peninsula. The applicant must possess the following minimum requirements: 18 yrs. old; high school diploma; valid driver’s license; experience with grounds or landscaping work and the ability to perform minimum maintenance work.  The ideal candidate will have at least
3 years’ experience in maintenance type work, construction (carpentry) and/or outdoor grounds services.  Work will be performed under the supervision of the Delta Conservation District management staff.
 
The grounds maintenance position will be located out of Pioneer Trail Park in Gladstone Michigan with responsibility in 3 additional parks and campgrounds.   
Starting salary will be between $38,000 - $45,000 depending on qualifications; vacation/sick and 16 paid holidays included.  Health benefit can be negotiated. Chosen individual must pass a criminal history check and drug screen.

CAMP HOST

The Delta Conservation District which is the operational management entity for Delta County Parks and Campgrounds located in Gladstone Michigan has a camp host position opening at Pioneer Trail Park.

Pioneer Trail Park is located between Escanaba and Gladstone on the Escanaba River.  This location offers a day use park; campground consisting of 88 modern sites and 20 rustic sites; 5 cabin sites; 2 pavilions; 3 restroom buildings; shower building; laundry room; disc golf course; and boat launch.

Camp host responsibilities would include, but not limited to:
  • commitment per week will mostly be in the evening after 8 p.m. when the office closes to assist campers with questions
  • helping locate sites for off road one-night travelers
  • pavilion close-up

​Camp host position receives a complementary full-hookup site located next to the office with wi-fi.  Other services that the camp host or hosts might want to do can be negotiated with the CEO. 

Pioneer Trail Park opens May 16th and closes October 16th.  Ideal camp host would be there for the entire season, but other or shorter arrangements can be made and with multi-individuals.
